DAYS THAT SHOOK THE WORLD.

There have been days in the history of the world when something happened that affected most people in the world. Days that changed the course of everyone's lives. Days that will forever be remembered, celebrated and mourned. Days that either brought us together as one or pushed us further apart. Days alot of us, whether living at the time or not, will never forget.

I present to you some days that shook the world to it's grounds.

ASSASINATION AT SARAJEVO
On June 28, 1914, an assassin's bullet set off a chain of events that would lead to the most terrible war the world had ever seen. This was the day Archduke Ferdinand, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary, made a state visit to Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia. This day changed the course of history.

THE DREAM OF MARTIN LUTHER KING JR
On August 28, 1963, civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. made a speech at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. In it he described his dream of black and white people coexisting in racial harmony and equality. But his historic address was really about the inequality and injustices that African-Americans suffered. That day nor the speech will ever be forgotten.

THE FALL OF THE BERLIN WALL
On November 9, 1989, the Berlin Wall came down. For over a quarter of a century, the wall divided not only the people of Berlin, but the people of Germany and Europe. It had been the point at which democracy and communism collided. It had been the most brutal symbol of communist repression. And it had been a physical barrier that when broken, shook the world to its ground

THE BOMBIMG OF HIROSHIMA
On August 6, 1945, 12 U.S. airmen climbed aboard a B-29 Superfortress bomber at an airfield on a tiny island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Their mission was so secret that even they were not certain of its true nature. The cargo was a special type of bomb, and their instruction was to head for the Japanese city of Hiroshima. This bombing stopped the second world war.

THE KENNEDY ASSASINATION
Friday, November 22, 1963, is a day that most people over the age of 50 will never forget. Where they were and what they were doing is etched into their memories, because that was the day John F. Kennedy was killed. For all generations, the assassination of this youthful and handsome American president remains a mystery.

THE MOON LANDING
It is 4:15 A.M., on Wednesday, July 16, 1969. Astronauts Neil Armstrong, "Buzz" Aldrin, and Mike Collins wake up, knowing that today is a special day. There is a good chance that they are about to make history, by taking off on the first mission ever to land a human being on the moon. If they are successful, their names will never be forgotten. And the day, never to be forgotten.

PEARL HARBOUR
On December 7, 1941, Japanese aircraft carried out a devastating surprise bombing raid on the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. This single act drew the U.S. into conflict with both Japan and its ally Germany. It marked a turning point in the course of World War II.

THE WALL STREET CRASH
Black Tuesday, October 29, 1929, was the day an era came to an end. The 1920s had been a magical time in the history of the U.S.-- a time of jazz, flappers, and gangsters, and a time when the stock market encouraged dreams of unlimited wealth. Thousands of people bought shares and watched their value soar at the New York Stock Exchange.

THE DEATH OF PRINCESS DIANA
August 31st is a day many people will not forget. It was the day the world lost their beloved Princess and the most photographed woman in the world, Princess of Whales. Prncess Diana or Lady di ad she was fondly called, in a ghastly motor accident while trying to escape the paparazzi in France. ALL SAINTS DUMPED BY RECORD LABEL.

All Saints

Reformed pop group All Saints have been dropped by record label Parlophone following disappointing sales.

The foursome launched their comeback last November, five years after they split amid reports of in-fighting. But they failed to match the success of their 1990s hits Pure Shores and Never Ever, and new album Studio One entered the UK charts at number 40.

Parlophone decided to part company with the group when second single Chick Fit landed outside the Top 75 last weekend

The group sold more than 10 million albums around the world in their first flush of success.

Their second single, Never Ever, went to number one in 1997 and singer-songwriter Shaznay Lewis burst into tears when it was named best British single at the following year's Brit Awards.

Following their split in 2001, group member Melanie Blatt told BBC Radio 1 the quartet had fallen out over money.

It's time for this girls to move on to other things.

FROM ME TO YOU!

From me to you

P.S: These pictures are old. Haven't been to the studio in over a year. Sad right?

DICK CHENEY DIAGNOSED WITH A BLOOD CLOT IN LEFT LEG

Dick Cheney has been diagnosed with a blood clot in his left leg, leading to speculation he will be forced to resign as U.S. Vice-President.
The 66-year-old has a history of major health problems, including four heart attacks, and has undergone quadruple-bypass surgery.
Mr Cheney called in a doctor yesterday after suffering 'discomfort' in his calf.
'An ultrasound test revealed a deep venous thrombosis or blood clot in his left lower leg,' said an official report. The vice-president has been put on blood thinning medication and has returned to work.
While the White House is trying to play down the situation, the condition is obviously serious and will again trigger speculation that Mr Cheney could be forced to resign through poor health.
Blood clots that form deep in the legs can become killers if they break off and float into the lungs.
Lets hope he gets well soon.

THE WAR IN UGANDA.

Some of you might find this pictures offensive. I'm sorry about that. But I think we all need to know what's happening in other parts of the world. We all need to know how our fellow human beings live like animals. While we are thinking of how to get that new ride, new home, new clothes, these people are thinking of how to survive from day to day. Thinking of when their next meal will arrive, wondering if and when they'll see their families again. And hoping for a better tomorrow. Below are some pictures from war torn Uganda.

I usually don't like to load up sad things but I believe some of us need to wake up and start counting our blessings. And what better way to do it than to see how other people live?

There's been a civil unrest in Uganda since 1979, after dictator India Amin left power. It's sad to see people live this way, right?

From today onwards, count your blessings instead of counting the little things you don't have. Trust me, millions of people in war torn countries will trade places with you anyday. You are lucky. Always remember that.

JAY Z TO SELL ROCAWEAR.

Jay-Z has entered into a deal to sell his successful clothing company Rocawear.
The best part? He's set to receive $204 million in CASH for it!!!!!

The hip hop mogul will be selling his apparel line to the Iconix Brand Group, a company that licenses and markets such popular brands as Candies, Joe Boxer, Mudd, London Fog, Ocean Pacific and others.

And, Jay is set to make even more money if Rocawear continues to perform well.

The deal, which was announced Tuesday March 6th, could also net Jay-Z $35 million in Iconix stock, if the Rocawear brand meets certain performance requirements over the next three-five years.

Jay-Z will still also stay on board as figurehead of the company and he will continue to be in charge of all product development, marketing and licensing for Rocawear, which boasts annual retail sales of over $700 million.

And, Beyonce's man has also signed a new deal with Iconix to launch a new luxury brand, The Shawn Carter Collection, which is due in stores in 2008.
