DNA Movement

Nigerian dancers have come a long way. A couple of years ago, if you told your family that you were looking to pursue a career in dance, you were told to stop kidding and go get a life. Today, a new breed of dancers and choreographers are building a sustainable living, by focusing on developing world class dance pieces.

The DNA Movement (dance neuron anomalies) is one such breed. Continue...

We believe that dance is just as important as any other form of the arts, and as such are working to build a new dance industry in Africa.

We are a team of experienced dancers, choreographers, stage managers, costume designers, who believe that we can revolutionize a dying industry, by raising the bar, and building a bridge between dancers and the rest of the world.

We choreographed a small video to the cover of Dorobucci by Mavin Records. Please feel free to let us know what you think.

Looking to entertain your guests with custom dance pieces at any of your events? Give us a call today, on 08035894665 or 07081212612, or visit our website on www.dnaonline.tv.

Check out the Dorobucci dance cover below...

Truth be told, this was not choreographed well. The members need to get their timings right. Dance is a very energy consuming activity. You need dicipline and commitment. Which means regular gym to tone muscles , to produce SHARP ON POINT POPPING MOVES. I give it to you guys for Enthusiasm but that's about it. The moves were floppy AND DULL. The only thing popping was the computer generated effects and to be honest you don't need effects if your dance is on point. it's a step up from native pangolo dance moves, but compared to what is happening internationally this is a non starter. You need more PRACTICE, CREATIVE IDEAS AND INNOVAVATION. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX. FAME AND MONEY WILL COME AFTER YOU HAVE ESTABLISHED YOUR COMMITMENT TO THE ART OF DANCE. DANCE IS AN ART NOT A QUICK STEP TO FAME. GOODLUCK.

I agree with you. This is a big group so organising them will be difficult. Clap, clap, clap for effort. But no awards for innovation. Take constructive criticism and move up from mediocre to excellence. Clap ×5 for effort.

Nice effort i must say. but is it just me or does it look like they are dancing to an entirely different song? cuz i don't see a unison between most of the moves and the dorobucci song :/

Love it Love it Love it ...It's a start and it will continue to get better and better. I don't think any body will expect you guyz to put out a flawless choreography starting out but this is very good guyz , even kaffy and P - square still have errors in their dance presentations, so don't be concerned about the criticism, take it with an open mind and let it make you better. Some people are very silly and ignorant when given advice or when pointing out areas of improvement.

it was lovely,
i know if it was a musical video they would be better co-ordinated. this was just a tip i guess.

Thank u anon@ 4:47. That's some straight up advise. These dancers benefit from the truth .if they wanted sugar coated flattery they have their mothers for that. I can't stand people who cannot say the truth to save a soul. These dancers are not kids. DNA it was not good enough. No organisation, no coordination. No unity as a team, no sequence. You guys need to study your art very well, there is a lot of ground that you still need to cover. If what you want is to make money, Nigeria is a massive market and most don't get dance so you can exploit that flaw however if you want to be taken seriously on the international plane you guys have got to work hard, it means research, studying commitment and practice. Forget all these people patting you on the back non of them have made a single constructive critism to help propel you onto the international scene. And they will not patronise you either. Na clap u go chop? Abi kind words na food. If you are opportuned to attend serious auditions you no go get kind words o! Becos you na mama no go dey for panel. Tough love is not hating. I want you guys to do well. Trim the fat and get down to serious buisness.

Based on nigerian standards this is well done. It is not everyone who has ambition to go international.this is nigerian standard of dancing and we like it. Naija for life.

Jamie said...

Well done . You guys need to take it up several notches.
