We'll , do not blame them , only protecting them selves. Had Nigeria done the same isolation for the Liberian man, it would have saved some lives,MM

What are u looking for here in Nigeria too, is Nigeria the way to America?

Anonymous said...

And the discrimination has begun not have begun linda....

Anonymous said...

Which discrimination? When it is no longer dreaded or if it decides to go away for a while and you receive this treatment, call it discrimination. For now, it is not discrimination. Better safe than sorry. What will happen if someone tests positive to Ebola virus? Will they quarantine the person at their airport and ask the person's country to come and pick him/her up? Linda, be like say you dey think to fly go USA if the matter pass like dis na im make am dey pain you.

Anonymous said...

Wait, you this anon9:57pm, how does it concern us if you have an American passport and are on your way there? If you want to say we are worse, please feel very free to say so, but don't bring in that American aspect, it reminds us of that your countryman.

Anonymous said...

Nor be who get money travel go feel shitty? As for me, na prayer make the thing just fade away I dey think. No time to reason 'discrimination'.

ETY said...

ITS JUST PRECAUTIONS.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous 9:57pm, please if you have it just stay at home, you will get the best of treatments there. Don't run to America and make the news for the wrong reason.

Anonymous said...

...the discrimination against West Africans HAS begun, Linda.

pls stop d blame thing and pray for d nation. Don't use the same mouth u use in cursing ur president to pray. Learn to respect those in the authority its in d bible. This is the time we all come together and fight this off our shore. All hands must be on deck. This ebola can find itself to any country even d US if measures to contain it are not taken on time. Do u know d flight d liberian man took wasn't direct flight to nigeria. It transited in togo before coming here, so a carrier can sneak to any of this neighboring country that has not been reported of any ebola case and from there travel to the US or any other country. This is a global treat, which needs urgency, when hiv came did any country prevented it from entering, so people should not be crying over spit milk. Let's fight it with one mind. God bless Nigeria.

Please leave o
why should they talk to you, when it's your fellow Liberian-American who put us in this mess? ??
Nigerians are very hospitable people, especially to foreigners, but in the wake of Ebola, everyone is a suspect.

Who let a Liberian in Nigeria!??? What!??? They'Sun, Aug 10, 2014 quarantine you in the states. Get ready.

LKJ said...

This is no discrimination. If d Nigerian govt had done this when the Liberian was coming into the country,we would not be talking about Ebola outbreak now.

Anonymous said...

My Liberian bro/sist, do you have business here? Or you are trying to cut costs? Please, as you can't wait to leave, don't leave us any extra baggage. The sore is still raw. We are still reeling from the shock. Ebola did not sneak into our country, it walked boldly into it.

May God help us all IJN AMEN..

Abeg go and sit down, wat do u expect, wen ur broda brought Ebola to dis country,if I be u, I go just go hide

chizzysignature said...

Ebola is one disease too much,so who can blame them for the isolation. Let's pray solution comes soonest.

Alicia says... said...

But HIV comes through unprotected intercourse or oral, or sharing of body fluids. You cannot realistically compare HIV and ebola. Biko.

Anonymous said...

What's the point of stressing Patrick Sawyer was American when he caught the disease in West Africa? The disease isn't endemic to North America.

Anonymous said...

That's Seychelles for you. Maybe cos you travelled business class. The last time I was in Seychelles with my wife, we were kept at the airport for over 2hours with sniffing dogs all round us. Assumed drugs lords from Nigeria just because we were on business class. I disliked the country from that moment.

Olameedey said...

Any African man or woman shud prepare 4 worse when leaving d shores of their country 4 a White man's land 4rm now on.

anonymous said...

That is d right thing to do, if that was done in our own airport, u wouldn't be isolated in another country and our nation won't be in this mess

Unknown said...

ISOLATION....this shit will be on for long enough

BORN TO SHINE!!!!

Discrimination against African has always been.

Anonymous said...

Nigerians self, I don't understand. So what do you expect them to do ?to welcome you nd embrace you with a hug! Even the deaf person has heard about Ebola everywhere in the world . Malaria is a big s are in the Uk talk less of Ebola !

Remyne05 said...

Anonymous 11.54pm. Same with me, make I siddon for house jeje.

ary said...

Ah! why call it discrimination? If Africa had acted fast would we be in this mess? If we had our head screwed on right wouldn't we be the founder of the new miracle drug that cures ebola? But no! Our governments are busy funding terrorism, stealing and looting and looking for new ways to rig elections! Why wouldn't we be 'discriminated' against?! You call it discrimination, they call it 'survival'

Unknown said...

I don't blame them cos I knw niger woulda done so too if twas vice versa bt mehn....

Anonymous said...

Pls help us ask him if Nigeria is the gate way to America? Abi they don't hv direct flight to the US from their country? He even has d guts to complain after what his fellow country man has done to us, please leave today today ooooo!

Anonymous said...

Some people just come here to type rubbish and display their ignorance, haba! What have you typed biko? Wif? Wlcum?

Mena Peters Triflections said...

You call this discrimination? They are only taking precaution. If we has done this in Nigeria, we won't have Ebola in our hands. Linda, please stop this over patriotism of Africa and Nigeria, it makes you sound unintelligent atimes. We need changes and we need to start telling ourselves some hard truth.

Okoro said...

Hmm
Everyone playing safe.

Anonymous said...

This is not discriminatory. Its an organised country taking sensible measures to catch Ebola before if filters into its boarders. Perhaps if Nigerian government had taken such measures, Sawyer would have been identified and dealt with appropriately before this mess snowballs. -Ajala

Shyla said...

Ehh? And you still de here? No maybe they would have started singing for you sef. Why did you not get a connecting flight same day and leave for US. Biko one liberian is enough for us as it is. Please leave as soon as you read this! Thank you.

Linda its not discrimination. Seychelles and Mauritus put it on their website that passengers coming in from west africa will be screened.

Well,if our stupid & everly useless & inefficient government had been this proactive,we won't have had to be isolated or "discriminated" against like that. We have a government & a country full of so very many stupid & lazy people who don't care about anything(not even our own country) until a problem that could have been contained while it was small explodes due to initial stupidity & negligence of duty. Remember how boko haram started small & this present administration kept pushing stupid blames instead of working?

Anonymous said...

You can't blame them, if our government had done the same and screened passengers on flights from already affected countries, the Liberia guy won't have brought the virus to Nigeria. The only thing going in our leaders heads is how to steal and loot, even the 1.9 billion Ebola intervention fund will end up in private pockets. And by the way why is Kunle Afolayan's write up filled with so much grammatical errors? Sounds like something written by a semi-literate.
